Felix Kayser - Ladies table

Felix Kayser

Milan 1892 – Kirchzarten 1980

Architect, designer, theoretician and entrepreneur. Studied architecture in Berlin, Munich and Dresden. Discovered anthroposophy in 1919 and in 1920 joined the Anthroposophical Society. After study of Steiner´architectural ideas, he founded his own architectural studio in 1927 and started do design in anthroposophical style before end of 1920s. Mass-produced anthroposophical furniture (s. c. „Kaysermöbel“) went since then on and soon his furniture became the synonymum for this very style. In 1946, together with painter Walter Besteher he founded the Arbeitskreis anthroposophischer bildender Künstler in Stuttgart. In 1951, he co-founded Mensch und Baukunst journal. He published numerous theoretical architectural and design books.
